This project is invested National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) and assigned to CPMB for operation and management with a total investment of over VND 317 billion.
The two 500/220/35kV - 450MVA autoconnected transformer combinations were previously replaced by the two 500/220/35kV - 900MVA autoconnected transformer combinations. In addition, the project also replaced, upgraded and repaired other work items of Son La 500kV substation (Pi Toong commune, Muong La district, Son La province).
Completely upgrading the capacity of Son La 500kV substation will increase the capacity of load relief for the hydroelectric plants’ in the Northwest region into the national power system and meet the load growth demand of the North in particular and the whole country in general.
