As of the second quarter of 2017, EVNSPC is managing the sale of electricity to 7,467,747 customers. Up to July 2017, 100% of the communes, wards and towns of 21 provinces and cities in the South are connected to the national grid; the number of households using electricity is 7.57 million households, equivalent to 99.47%; number of rural households are 5.06 million households, equivalent to 99.19%.
According to EVNSPC, the power project to supply power to the households that have not been connected to electricity, mainly Khmer compatriots in Kien Giang Province, phase 2 is being deployed using the national budget for 2017, equivalent to VND15.4 billion) and expected to be finished at the end of 2017.
With regard to investment, for the first 6 months of 2017, the Corporation has commenced 26 projects and energized 19 project of 110 kV and 220 kV. The total volume that was put into operation included: 25 km of new line, 43 km of upgraded lines with total increased capacity of 870 MVA. Besides, the EVNSPC also finished the 135 projects of distribution grid.
As of end of June 2017, the Corporation has put into operation 96 additonal remote control substations, raising the total number of remote control substation to 162 substations.
