Vietnamese Power sector expected to soon hold No.1 in Southeast Asia

It is shared by former senior officials at the meeting of former power sector senior officials of the Northern region held in Hanoi on 22 January.

At the meeting of former power sector senior officials of the Northern Region held in Hanoi, on 22 January 2016, General Director of EVN - Dang Hoang An reported to the officials on the results achieved by EVN in 2015 and the period from 2011 to 2015.

There were outstanding achievements such as the total installed capacity of the Vietnam electricity system reaching 38,800 MW, ranked No.2 in the ASEAN region and the 30th in the world. Of which, 60.8% of the total capacity was contributed to by EVN.

The General Director confirmed, EVN does not only meet the demand of power for socio-economic development of the country and the people’s living conditions with an average growth rate of over 10% per year, but also continuously improves the quality of customer services and business. The average rate of assessment of customer satisfaction in 2015 reached 7.5/10 points, being more improved compared with that of the previous years.

On behalf of the former power sector senior officials of the Northern Region, Labour Hero Thai Phung Ne, former Energy Minister expressed his trust that that the current EVN leaders and staff will lead the Vietnamese power sector to great achievements so as to soon rise to the first position in ASEAN countries.

Meeting with former power sector senior officials on the occasion of the Tet holidays is an annual event of the Vietnam Electricity. This is the chance for current EVN staff and leaders to show their sentiment and respect to their former generations.
