On 16 May 2019, Vietnamese Heart Fund cooperated with Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) to organize the program "Free cataract surgery and replacement for disadvantaged people" in Thai Binh province. The program supports VND 560 million to Thai Binh Eye Hospital for cataract surgery. It is expected that the money amount will help 200 patients get free surgery.
In this event, the volunteer team of charity visited a policy family that made a great contribution to the revolution and took Mr. Vu Trong Hue, 72 years old in 5 Tra Dong village, Dung Nghia commune, Vu Thu district, Thai Binh province to The Thai Binh Eye Hospital successfully performed the surgery right in the afternoon of May 16, 2019.
Mr. Ha Trung Kien, Director of Thai Binh Eye Hospital spoke at the meeting: "Thai Binh Eye Hospital is very grateful for the kind-heartedness of the volunteer team as accompanying Thai Binh’s people and bringing light to those who are in difficult circumstances, this is an action with profound humanity and love for people here.
