With the target of strengthening the capacity of over 500 MW and creating the 110kV loop for the areas of Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son (Da Nang), Hoi An, Dien Nam, Dien Ngoc (Quang Nam), the National Power Transmission Corporation invested almost VND 343 billion and assigned PTC2 to manage the 220 kV Ngu Hanh Son substation and the 220 kV Da Nang – Ngu Hanh Son transmission line.
The 220 kV Ngu Hanh Son substation project was commenced on March 9, 2015. The project scale consists of two 220 kV transformers of 2x250 MVA (2 x 250) MVA (in the first phase, installing one 250 MVA transformer), three 220 kV feeders, four 110 kV feeders, upgrading the control system, the fire prevention and fighting system of the whole substation.
Being supplied from two power sources, from 500 kV Da Nang substation and from 220 kV Tam Ky substation, the two-circuit 220 kV and 110 kV Da Nang - Ngu Hanh Son transmission line project was commenced in December 2012 and had the length of 11.25 km. This project was implemented on the basis of upgrading the existing 110 kV District 3 substation and 110 kV Da Nang - District 3 transmission line. This project is managed by the PTC2, designed by the Power Engineering Consulting Company No 4 and constructed by the Vietnam Electrical Construction Joint Stock Company (VNECO).
The completion of the project will ensure the safe and stable power supply, immediately serving the APEC Conference 2017 in Da Nang city and serving the need of social-economic development of Da Nang city and the northern area of Quang Nam province in the years to come.
After the completion of the 220kV substation and transmission line, the National Power Transmission Corporation shall continue to assign PTC2 to implement the project of upgrading capacity, replacing the existing 110 kV, 25 MVA transformers with 110 kV, 63 MVA transformers at the 220 kV Hoa Khanh and Ngu Hanh Son substations.
