The working session of Steering Board of building Project “Researching, developing and applying the technologies of Industrial Revolution 4.0 in EVN’s business and production”, 8th August 2018.
At the working session, Mr. Tran Viet Anh – EVN’s director of Strategy Department stated that in the recent period, EVN has evaluated the current status of condition and technology application in all the activities (power generation, transmission, distribution and retail; power system coordination and power market operation; management information system) in order to effectively apply the revolution’s technologies.
The units under EVN have built up 11 projects and proposed 60 component sub-projects to apply the technologies. However, due to some poor technical infrastructures, the automation level applied to them is inconsistent.
According to the Project, EVN is about to research and apply dramatically, thoroughly and efficiently digital, information and automatic technologies with the typical ones including Internet of Things (IoT), Big data, Artificial intelligence (AI), Blockchain and network security.
Specifically, the Group seeks to building up smart power grids, adjusting load, cloud computing, smart data, constructing virtual power plants, supplying power via electricity meters, managing household power, developing power storage battery, etc.
In business management, EVN’s orientation is to build up digital corporations, creating smart systems to assist their leaders in controlling and managing and ensuring the security as well.
Mr. Duong Quang Thanh – EVN’s Chairman of Member Council directed that for effectively launching the technology application of 4.0 industrial revolution, the existing infrastructure needs to be exactly evaluated. Based on the result, specific plans are developed with an obvious target for each phase. Moreover, the work items need to be realized and assigned to the units for launching technology application subject to each unit’s advantage.
He also addressed that the Group needs to concentrate on training its experts and high-quality human resource. The Steering Board of Project development and the units need to learn from international experiences, referring to the measures taken by power organizations throughout the world in order to select technology solutions which are appropriate to the reality of Vietnam’s Power Sector.
