Chairman of EVN Board of Directors welcomed the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the South Korea to Vietnam

The welcoming reception took place on August 2 at the Headquarter of Vietnam Electricity.

At the meeting with Ambassador Lee Hyuk, Chairman of EVN Board of Directors Duong Quang Thanh said, EVN is the corporation responsible for supplying power for the economic and social development. In recent years, the growth rate of commercial energy production in Vietnam has been 10-11% per year. To meet the power demand of the country, annually, EVN has developed 4,000-5,000 MW of power generation and thousands of km of power transmission lines.

During the last time, EVN had to ensure sufficient power for the operation of Korean businesses in Vietnam, such as the industrial park in Bac Ninh, Samsung industrial park in Thai Nguyen etc. The relationship between EVN and South Korean businesses has been increasingly strengthened. Many South Korean businesses have taken part in the construction of the power plant projects in Vietnam such as Mong Duong 1 Thermal Power Plant, Trung Son Hydropower Plant, and Nghi Son 2 Thermal Power Plant...

Mr. Lee Hyuk highly appeciated the power quality and reasonable electricity tariff in Vietnam, and believed that this was one of the factors to attract Korean investors to Vietnam.

The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of South Korea to Vietnam emphasized that the cooperation in the field of electric energy has played a key role in Vietnam-Korea relationship and hoped that in the coming time, the relationship between the two countries as well as the cooperation between EVN and South Korean businesses would be better developed.
