- Please tell me why Power Transmission Company 3 (PTC3) cooperates with Power Transmission Service Company (NPTS) to repair and replace equipment at Vinh Tan 500kV Substation right on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2023?
- Mr. Dinh Van Cuong: Vinh Tan 500kV substation plays a very important role in the national transmission grid system, as a power transmission node from the cluster of thermal power plants (TPP) of the Vinh Tan Power Center as well as releasing capacity from renewable energy sources in Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces.
In order to take advantage of the low load demand during the Lunar New Year holiday, facilitating power cuts to replace, repair, and maintain equipment, PTC3 has coordinated with NPTS to organize a replacement, repair, and maintain equipment even during the time of Tet holiday with the highest consensus and determination. This will contribute to ensuring the safe operation and uninterrupted power supply of the Vinh Tan 500kV substation and ensure the rights of renewable energy sources in the area. In addition, the replacement of the current transformer improves the power transmission capacity at the substation, ready for high-load operation from the dry season in 2023.

Vinh Tan 500kV substation
- Under Binh Thuan Power Transmission – Power Transmission Company 3;
- Located in Vinh Phuc village, Vinh Tan commune, Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province with a construction area of 12.7ha.
- The substation has a capacity of 1,800MVA;
- With a 500kV grid, the substation connects with Song May 500kV substations, Tan Uyen 500kV substations, Thuan Nam 500kV substations, Vinh Tan 1 Thermal Power Plant, and Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant.
- With 220kV grid connected to Phan Ri 2 220kV substation, Quan The 220kV switching station, Thuan Nam 500kV substation, Vinh Tan 2 Thermal Power Plant.
