This is an activity under the twinning program between the Branch of the Department of Ethnic Affairs and the Party Committee of EVNNPC, aiming to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Border Guards Day (March 3, 1989 - March 3, 2019) and the 60th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnam Border Guards (March 3, 1959 - March 3, 2019).

The delegation visited various border posts of Soc Giang, Lung Nam, Tra Linh and the Border Guard Command of Cao Bang province; visited and encouraged Mrs. Hoang Thi Khin - a revolutionary veteran (in Truong Ha commune, Ha Quang district); visited and presented gifts to 30 policy families and outstanding families under the national border security and sovereignty protection of Ha Quang and Tra Linh districts.
The delegation also visited and encouraged the staffs and employees of Tra Linh Power unit, listened to their reports on the power supply for economic development activities in Tra Linh border gate and people in border areas.
According to Mr. Ha Ngoc Chien, in the twinning program between the Department of Ethnic Affairs and the Party Committee of EVNNPC, in addition to the coordination, exchange and sharing of experience in Party work, both sides would coordinate to organize some activities for ethnic minority people, particularly those living in mountainous and border areas in 27 Northern provinces and cities, etc., contributing to properly implementing policies for ethnic minorities of the Party and the State.

“Through this visit, the Department of Ethnic Affairs under the National Assembly and EVNNPC would like to express their gratitude to the soldiers and compatriots who have been contributing to the national border security and territorial sovereignty protection”, said Mr. Chien.
On EVNNPC side, according to Mr. Le Quang Thai - Deputy General Director of the Corporation, together with the efforts to ensure the safe and stable supply of power, meeting the power demand for socio-economic development, national defense - security and the living of people in 27 Northern provinces, EVNNPC would continue to implement meaningful activities for ethnic people, particularly in the Northern border and island area of the Fatherland.
