EVNSPC has assigned Hau Giang Power Company as the main investor of the project to supply power from the national power transmission system to rural areas in Hau Giang province. This project is part of the Government’s Plan to supply power for rural, mountainous and off-shore areas for the period from 2013 to 2020 to reduce poverty, improve the life quality of residents in rural areas, especially ethnic minorities in remote regions of the country.
Installing electrification equipments for off-grid households in Hau Giang
The scope of this project includes a 164-kilometer, medium-voltage power line; a 245-kilometer, low-voltage power line and 114 power substations to supply power for 7,287 households in 5 districts in Hau Giang: Long My, Vi Thuy, Phung Hiep, Chau Thanh A and Chau Thanh.
In its first phase if 2016, the project is expected to supply power for 1,807 households with a total investment of more than VND 35 billion. After the completion of this project, 98.93% of total households in Hau Giang and 98.34% of total rural households will have access to electricity.
