EVN General Director Tran Dinh Nhan welcomed and worked with Karpowership Group (Turkey)

On June 1, in Hanoi, Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan – General Director of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) worked with Karpowership Group (the Republic of Turkey) to discuss cooperation opportunities between the two groups.

EVN General Director Tran Dinh Nhan worked with Mr. Sander Gurbuz - Former Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Vietnam, Senior Advisor of Karpowership

Karpowership is an enterprise specializing in providing floating power plant solutions. Karpowership's power ships use heavy oil fuel (HFO) or natural gas, including a heat recovery unit, to generate electricity by steam cycle. Power ships’ generation capacity ranges from 30MW to 760MW. Power ships can be connected to FSRU systems to generate electricity using LNG fuel. The duration to complete such a power ship is from 90 to 120 days from the time of contract signing. In Southeast Asia, Karpowership has cooperated with Indonesia to deploy a 1,000MW power generation project.

Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan – EVN’s President and CEO said that Karpowership's floating power generation is a new solution. EVN will consider reporting to the Ministry of Industry and Trade and state management agencies for their opinions. This is also a feasible solution in the coming years, when Vietnam's power system may face a shortage of local supplies, especially during the peak time of the hot season in the North every year.
