EVN Vice President Nguyen Tai Anh welcoming Finnish Ambassador to Vietnam and leaders of Wärtsilä Group, on the morning of October 25
At the meeting, the Finnish Ambassador to Vietnam said: Wärtsilä is the world's leading corporation in building flexible power plants using internal combustion engines (ICE) powered by LNG or natural gas, and energy storage battery systems to support the renewable energy sources integration and stabilize the power system. Currently, the group has more than 76,000MW of ICE power plants operating in 180 countries.
Accordingly, Wärtsilä wishes to support EVN in sharing experiences and solutions to stabilize the power system when the renewable energy proportion is increasing, through the organization of technical seminars and field trips to some typical ICE power plants in the world, studying the possibility of jointly developing an ICE project shortly after the National Power Development Plan 8 is approved.
EVN Vice President Nguyen Tai Anh sincerely thanks the Finnish Ambassador to Vietnam and Wärtsilä Group for their interest in the energy sector in Vietnam.
Leaders of EVN also informed more about Vietnam's power system, which is leading in Southeast Asia with a capacity of nearly 80,000MW, in which the proportion of renewable energy sources is increasing. This is the roadmap that Vietnam is aiming for to well-implement the Net-zero commitment by 2050 by Vietnam Government at the COP26 conference. EVN will continue to study the Wärtsilä Group’s proposals for the introduction of power plants using ICE technology at the appropriate time.
