EVN and CSG have had 20 years of cooperation in cross-border electricity trading at 220kV and 110kV voltage levels. Currently, the two Groups have been cooperating under the signed power purchase agreement for the period of 2022 - 2025.
In particular, EVN and CSG have signed a long-term strategic cooperation agreement in the electricity area since April 2022, aiming to establish a cooperation framework between the two Groups to strengthen cooperation in such areas as electricity generation, transmission and distribution, customer service, business, electricity import and export, organizational restructuring, digital transformation and human resource training.
Through this cooperation agreement, the two parties have been implementing effectively, making good use of each party's experience, resources and potentials; as well as promoting the development of electricity cooperation in the region, forming a regionally interconnected power grid linking the power systems of countries in the Greater Mekong Subregion Economic Cooperation Program, ASEAN, and promoting multilateral electricity trading.

In line with the global digital transformation trend, EVN and CSG have made many cooperative efforts to go together on the digital transformation roadmap. A highlight is a webinar with the topic "Organizational restructuring - Digital transformation with corporate governance" held on December 3, 2021, co-hosted by Mr. Duong Quang Thanh – the Board Chairman of Vietnam Electricity, and Mr. MENG Zhenping – the Board Chairman of China Southern Power Grid (CSG). Also within the framework of the program, a high-level dialogue was held between EVN’s Chairman and CSG’s Chairman. The leaders of both parties emphasized that the two Groups are each other's strategic partners with a decent cooperation process over the past 20 years. The two parties wish to promote and deepen the cooperation relationship for mutual and constant development to gain new achievements.
