EVN assisting over VND 100 million to Chuong My district’s people affected by disaster

On 2nd August 2018, Mr. Duong Quang Thanh - Secretary of the Party Committee, EVN’s Chairman of Member Council, Member of National Assembly – Term XIV, Hanoi National Assembly Delegation together with the working delegation of the Group conducted inspection of power supply in affected communes by flood in Chuong My district (Hanoi), visited and gave gifts to local people.

The leaders of EVN donated VND 100 million, contributing to overcoming the disaster and helping people living in the affected area stabilize their daily activities soon. At the same time, the delegation went to Nam Phuong Tien commune to give 5 presents to seriously affected households.

Chairman of People’s Committee of Chuong My District - Mr. Dinh Manh Hung highly appreciated the concern and support from Members of the National Assembly and EVN’s staff and employees. At the same time, he stated that the assistance will be timely transferred to people in flooded areas and the local authority will also continue to focus on directing and organizing measures to overcome the consequences of rain and flood, ensuring safe and stable lives for the local people.

Over the past days, due to heavy rain, water rising has caused flooding to fields and some residential areas in Hoang Van Thu, Tan Tien, Nam Phuong Tien communes. Thousands of households are submerged in water, not ensuring safe conditions for power supply. Therefore, Chuong My Power Company (belonging to Hanoi Power Corporation) has to relieve power load.

The company has mobilized all the employees to do on-duty task and urgently implement the plan to ensure electricity safety in flooded areas. At the same time, the company coordinated with local authorities at all levels to conduct propagation and mobilize people to stay away from dangerous areas, prevent electric shock and provide rescue for the families seriously affected by flood.

In particular, the Company gave priority of power supply to 16 substations serving the water pumping to drain flooding. In the process of power outage and restoration of power supply, the company should monitor regularly so as for people do not close, steal electric power. Chuong My Power Company and Chuong My District People’s Committee also supported the local people to replace damaged electric wires and electric bulbs. After many days of inundation, there are no cases of power un-safety in Chuong My district.

The company timely solved the logistics work, ensuring good health conditions for employees to participate in ensuring safe and sufficient power supply; provided meals, drinks, tarpaulin for this force; 60 torches and 800 candles were provided from the first day of power outage at households.
