Ms. Calara Chung thanked for the warm welcome given by EVN’s leaders and expressed her pleasure to visit and work at Viet Nam Electricity.
At the working session, the two parties discussed on advanced technologies in the field of power energy. According to Deputy General Director of EVN Vo Quang Lam, under the impact of industrial revolution 4.0, EVN was also on the roadmap to develop smart power grid system. The Group was very respectful for exchange in cooperation opportunities, as well as solutions so as to enable the Power sector of Viet Nam to approach, keep pace with and effectively apply the achievements from industrial revolution 4.0.

Ms. Calara Chung affirmed that WEF was always ready to cooperate with EVN in developing modern power plants as well as expected EVN to become a partner of WEF with global benefits.
As stated, there are 21 power companies in the world being members of WEF. In ASEAN region, only Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) has been certified as a member of WEF. Some other countries such as Indonesia and Malaysia are also in the reviewing phase as Viet Nam.
In September 2016, the WEF proposed the possibility of EVN joining the partnership with WEF.
In October 2016, WEF organized the World Economic Forum on the Mekong region in Ha Noi. Through the channel of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, two members of EVN were assigned to attend the event.
In September 2018, WEF organized the World Economic Forum on ASEAN in Ha Noi, through the channel of VCCI.
