EVN works with German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ)

On March 22 in Hanoi, EVN Vice President Vo Quang Lam welcomed and worked with Mr. Matthias Giegerich - Head of the Department in charge of Asia, Pacific, Latin America, and the Caribbean region of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) on energy transition, opportunities and challenges in integrating renewable energy sources into Vietnam power system.

Speaking at the meeting, EVN Vice President Vo Quang Lam expressed that, in addition to the cooperation program between the two sides for the period of 2021-2025, EVN desires that GIZ would support Vietnam Electricity more in the forecast and integration of renewable energy sources in the power system while assisting EVN in setting the criteria and scale for smart power system building in the provinces of Vietnam.

EVN Vice President also desired that GIZ would share more of its experience in rooftop solar power development without subsidy policies. These are issues that Vietnam's power sector is very interested in.

GIZ believes that it would support EVN in completing the construction of Vietnam's power system and improving the management capacity of the team of engineers and operators of the power system.

GIZ delegation visiting and working at National Load Dispatch Center

Within the program’s framework, the delegation also visited and worked at the National Load Dispatch Center. The GIZ delegation had the opportunity to learn about Vietnam's power system, the challenges in operating renewable energy sources, and also visited the Dispatch room, the Electricity market management room and the Renewable energy room.
