EVNHANOI: Empowering Thong Nhat Park 110 kV substation

On July 6, 2018, Hanoi Power Corporation (EVNHANOI) successfully energized and put into operation Thong Nhat Park 110 kV substation project. This is one of the fast track projects which contribute to the safe, stable and uninterrupted power supply to downtown areas of Hanoi in the summer of 2018 and the years to come.

The project is invested by Hanoi Power Corporation and under the direct supervision of Hanoi Power Grid Project Management Board as authorized by the Corporation.

Thong Nhat Park 110 kV substation is designed with three transformers of 63 MVA per each, advanced GIS technology, and suitable for a smart grid model (unmanned substation). At this moment, two transformers have been put into operation.

The substation will enhance the electricity supply for the load center; ensuring adequate, safe and uninterrupted electricity supply for loads in Hai Ba Trung, Hoan Kiem, Dong Da districts and other surrounding areas. At the same time, the substation has contributed to improving reliability of the power grid in the inner city.

So far, this is one of two GIS substations which have been invested, built and operated by EVNHANOI, namely Tay Ho 220 kV substation and Thong Nhat Park 110 kV substation.

Hanoi Power Corporation has directed Hoan Kiem, Hai Ba Trung and Dong Da power companies to complete 19 22kV feeders so as to deploy immediately 70% of the rated capacity of the substation.
