EVN’s Chairman of Board of Members welcomed General Electric’s President and CEO

On April 14th, in Hanoi, the Chairman of Board of Members of EVN Mr. Duong Quang Thanh welcomed Mr. Jeffrey R. Immelt, the Chief Executive Officer and President of General Electric Company, USA.

In the meeting with EVN’s Chairman of Board of Members Mr. Duong Quang Thanh, Mr. Jeffrey R. Immelt expressed great thanks to EVN for the effective and fruitful cooperation relation between the two Groups.

Over the recent years, GE has supplied equipment, turbines to several power plant projects in Vietnam including Phu My 2.2, Pha Lai 2, Duyen Hai 1 power plants, etc. as well as to the power transmission network. In parallel, EVN and GE have jointly organized a lot of valuable seminars on new technologies, technology transfer, assistance in training experts, technical staffs for EVN.

According to Mr. Jeffrey R. Immelt, General Electric has invested in construction of a wind turbine manufacturing factory based in Hai Phong, Vietnam with the total investment capital of approximately USD 61 million. GE’s products have been consumed in the country as well as been exported to international markets.

Welcoming and working with the President and CEO of General Electric, EVN’s Chairman displayed his expectation that General Electric will keep assisting Vietnam in power generation projects, including renewable energy and new gas turbine technology projects.

General Electric:

- Acting in such main business lines as: electric home appliances, energy, water, oil and gas, aviation, medical equipment, transportation, etc.

- In the energy sector, GE manufactures turbines for power plants (including wind turbines), automatic equipment, relays, supplying solutions on power distribution management, etc.
