LBBW is one of the four largest German banks, operating on a regional and global scale. Over the past 25 years, LBBW has financed many power projects in Vietnam. Particularly in 2020, LBBW has made financial contributions to 4 wind power projects, accounting for about 10% of the total capacity of wind power projects in operation in Vietnam. Also in 2021, LBBW is the only bank to finance a loan for a Tan Thuan 75MW nearshore wind power project. Power Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company 2 is the EPC general contractor for this project. Currently, the project has been commercially operated (COD).
In the coming time, LBBW is expressing his desire to cooperate with EVN in the development of power projects, especially renewable energy projects.
EVN General Director Tran Dinh Nhan and Mr. Jens Ruebbert - Managing Director in charge of Asia - the Pacific region of LBBW discussed cooperation opportunities between the two sides
Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan - General Director of EVN said that in the past 3 years, Vietnam has witnessed a strong development of renewable energy on the basis of the Government's incentive policies. Specifically, nearly 17,000MW of solar power and 4,000MW of wind power have been put into operation. On the side of EVN, EVN is being assigned by the state to research a number of LNG power projects. In addition, EVN is also researching and developing a number of offshore wind power projects in the North and has proposed to the Government to assign EVN as an investor. Therefore, EVN also wishes to have financial support sources with favorable loan conditions and interest rates, to implement projects invested by EVN.
At the meeting, the two sides also agreed to have specific discussions and proposals on cooperation in the coming time.
