Focus on removing difficulties for key power projects
In 2023, for the Power Industry, the MOIT will continue to focus on implementing the tasks of developing and implementing legal documents: amending the Electricity Law; formulating a Decree guiding Article 6, Law No. 03/2022/QH15 on socialization of the transmission grid; completing the dossier to submit to the Government on the request for the formulation of the Decree on investor selection of power projects; continuing to submit projects to the Prime Minister: completing the Power Planning VIII; the development strategy of Vietnam's the power industry to 2030, with a vision to 2045; report to the Government for promulgation of the Resolution on the public investment program in electricity supply in rural, mountainous and island areas in the 2021-2025 period; research, advise, develop and submit for approval mechanisms and policies for electricity and renewable energy development in line with the country's goals, planning, socio-economic development conditions and Comply with current laws...

Some electricity balance targets of the MOIT in 2023:
+ Total power capacity (excluding rooftop solar power): expected to reach 83,156MW, up 4.4% compared to the estimated implementation in 2022.
+ The rate of power reserve capacity (excluding renewable energy): expected to reach 18.8% - 20.1%.
+ Commercial electricity: Expected to reach about 259.5-263.6 billion kWh, an increase of 7.4 - 9.1% compared to the actual estimate current year 2022.
+ Electricity generated and imported: It is expected to reach about 289.9 - 294.3 billion kWh, an increase of 8-9.7% compared to the estimated implementation in 2022.
