The projects to ensure power supply for the South of Vietnam include:
- Southern region: 500 kV My Tho substation, 220 kV Ham Tan, My Xuan substations, 500 kV Pleiku 2 substation and 220 kV Cau Bong- Hoc Mon – Binh Tan transmission line.
- Northern and Central regions: 500 kV Pho Noi substation; installing the 220 kV transformers at the 500 kV Da Nang, Nho Quan, Vinh Tuong substations; upgrading capacity for 220 kV Phu Binh, Krông Buk, Thuan An, Vinh Yen substations.
- The capital city of Hanoi: 110 kV Noi Bai airport and Mo Lao substations; the 110 kV Van Tri – Dong Anh line, circuit 2, rehabilitating the 110kV Dong Anh – Mai Lam line, upgrading capacity for fourteen 110 kV substations.
In the fourth quarter of 2016, Vietnam Electricity directed its subsidiaries to mobilize resources to construct and energize the key and urgent projects such as the associated networks of Vinh Tan, Long Phu, Song Hau Thai Binh Power Centers; the transmission line to evacuate power from the Trung Son hydropower plant and other associated network projects for the hydropower plants in the North-Western area.
EVN requested the National Power Transmission Corporation to ensure the progress of the urgent projects to supply power for the South: 220 kV Phan Thiet – Phu My 2, Tan Uyen – Thuan An transmission lines and 220 kV Vung Tau, Tan Cang, District 8 substations...
For urgent projects to supply power for Hanoi city, EVN requested the National Power Transmission Corporation and the Hanoi Power Corporation to complete the capacity upgrading for 500 kV Thuong Tin substation, the 500/220 kV Hiep Hoa- Dong Anh – Bac Ninh 2 and 220 kV Hoa Binh- Wet Hanoi transmission lines; the 220 kV West Hanoi, Long Bien, Dong Anh substations and the 110 kV lines and substations.
