The successful rotor installation of Generating unit No.3 is of great significance, further confirming that Unit No. 3, the last unit of the Lai Chau Hydropower Plant Project is to be synchronized with the national grid in November 2016. 95% of all the constructed work items have been completed, guaranteeing the full completion of the whole Lai Chau Hydropower Plant Project in December 2016, one year ahead the original schedule.
Reporter: What is the economic benefit with the one year operation ahead the schedule of the Lai Chau Hydropower Plant?
Mr. Pham Hong Phuong:
The completion of the Lai Chau hydropower plant project one year ahead the schedule will contribute an additional energy of 4.7 billion kWh for the national grid, contributing to ensuring the national energy security. This power output multiplied by the unit cost along with many other savings by shortening the construction duration will bring benefit of about VND 7,000 billion to the country.

Reporter: In your opinion, what are the factors that make the earlier completion for the Lai Chau project?
Mr. Pham Hong Phuong:
Firstly, being a national key project, the Lai Chau hydropower plant projects receive the great support by the Government, the Ministries, State agencies and especially the support by local authorities and people in the residential resettlement.
Secondly, all the teams of design, construction and management of the Lai Chau Hydropower Plant Projects have gained experience in the implementation of the Son La Hydropower Project. Thus, the lessons learned and the best construction methods are applied to the construction of this project.
Thirdly, all the efforts and close coordination for the highest target are made by all the parties to ensure the schedule and even go ahead the schedule.
These factors enable the project to be successfully completed 1 year ahead the plan.
