Life of people in the border area of Nam Po becomes flourishing

Nam Po district is a key and strategic area in the Northwest border area of the country. Having attention of the Party and the State with effective investment programs and projects, Nam Po has made positive improvements in the fields of life, the face of this rural area has had many thriving changes.

With the support of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) in the social security program launched by the Ministry of Public Security, 615 houses of ethnic minorities in Nam Bo district have been newly built or renovated, which will be completed on the occasion of the National Day September 2, bringing flourishing lives to local people.

In the social security program launched by the Ministry of Public Security, financial supports have been bestowed on Nam Po district for newly building or renovating 615 houses (basically newly building). The budget of nearly VND 30 billion is financed by EVN and EVNNPC, which have been assigned to Dien Bien Power Company as the focal point to coordinate closely with the local authority of Nam Po district for newly building and renovating houses. After nearly two months of implementing the program, more than 300 houses in 15 communes have been completed and handed over to people for use. The rest will be continued, striving to complete by the end of August 2020.

Leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Vietnam Electricity and representatives of the local authority handed over the house to Mr. Giang A Chu's family in Nam Tha La village, Pa Tan commune

Mr. Le Khanh Hoa, Secretary of the Party Committee of Nam Po district, said: Households are supported with a maximum of VND 50 million per house for building new houses, and with VND 15 million per item for renovating or repairing houses.

As soon as the Ministry of Public Security's home-building policy is in place with the sponsorship of EVN, EVNNPC and Dien Bien Power Company have cooperated very closely with the district's party committees, the local governments as well as departments and agencies. After reviewing the program, EVNNPC has promptly transferred funds to build houses for people.

A leader of EVNNPC said that at present EVN and EVNNPC have been urgently coordinating with the Ministry of Public Security, the Police Department of Dien Bien province and other partners to implement the program in accordance with the targeted plan, striving to hand over houses to local people on the occasion of the National Day festival. The future life of the ethnic minorities in Nam Po will turn the page to a new and brighter life. New houses will serve as a fulcrum, creating a driving force for local people to rise up in the process of poverty reduction, economic development, and contributing to ensuring social security and order in the area.
