The Thai Binh Thermal Power Plant Project (total capacity of 2 x 300 MW), has a total investment of over VND 26.5 trillion. The project is owned by Vietnam Electricity and managed by the Power Generation Corporation (EVNGENCO 3). Marubeni Corporation from Japan is the EPC contractor.
According to Thai Binh Thermal Power Project Management Board/EVNGENCO 3, the energization of the main transformers of Unit No. 1 has been completed 15 days ahead of the plan is an important milestone to ensure the installation progress of Unit No. 1 in particular and the progress of the whole project in general.
Currently, the Thai Binh Thermal Power project/ EVNGENCO 3, the contractors and consulting unit have continued to perform the commissioning according to the technical procedures, ensuring commercial operation of Unit No. 1 in the fourth quarter of 2017.
Upon its official operation, the Thai Binh thermal power plant can supply about 3.2 billion kWh/year of power, playing a key part in power supplying for socio-economic development of Thai Binh province and some areas in the Red River Delta Region and contributing to increasing power supply capacity of the national power system.
