After a review lasting more than a year, USTDA has agreed to sponsor a grant of USD 733,358 for the project, which has a counterpart fund of USD 88,675 from EVNCPC. The project commencement date will be in October 2016 and expected completion date will be in August 2017.

At the Signing Ceremony, Ms. Elizabeth M Shieh – Commercial Counselor of the U.S. General Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City – said: “This grant shows the United State’s strong interest in providing assistance for the development of Vietnam’s power sector, which has seen a rapid growth in the recent years”.
This project will support the development of EVNCPC’s overall information technology infrastructure and smart grid strategies to help EVNCPC realize its future development targets.
In return for USTDA’s consideration for EVNCPC, Chairman & CEO Tran Dinh Nhan expressed his appreciation to USTDA, the U.S. General Consulate, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Planning and Investment, EVN and particularly the Institute of Energy for their support in facilitating the Corporation to complete procedures relating to the grant for the project; in time review and approve the project’s proposal and documents for the initiation of the Grant Agreement Signing Ceremony.
On the importance of this project, EVNCPC’s Chairman & CEO Tran Dinh Nhan emphasized: “The deployment of this project will enable EVNCPC to design an overall architecture for the Corporation’s information technology system and build an appropriate plan for the development of this system from now until 2020, with a vision up to 2025. As a result, the Corporation will gradually develop its information technology system in order to accomplish the ultimate goal of a powerful, modern, integrated, safe and reliable system that can satisfy the high demand for data processing of the upcoming smart grids system as well as EVNNPC’s operation management standards.
