The 500 kV Viet Tri substation and connection project has a total investment of VND 1,246.8 billion (financed from the commercial loan and self-financing source of EVNNPT). The project is invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) and managed by the CPMB on behalf of EVNNPT, and taken over and operated by the Power Transmission Company No 1 upon project completion.
The project scope consists of construction of the 500 kV substation with a capacity of 450 MVA + 900 MVA, (in this phase, one 500/220 kV 450 MVA transformer will be installed) and construction of two connection lines including one 500 kV double circuit line of 2.5 km long and one 220 kV 4-circuit line of 16 km long.
The investment for this project is aimed to meet the growing power demand of the North power system, especially the provinces of Phu Tho and Vinh Phuc; create strong connnections between areas in the power system, increase the safe and stable operation for the national power system; reduce transmission losses and increase business efficiency of EVN.
