Nearly 500 disadvantaged patients were donated by EVN for eye surgery to replace lenses freely

On 29th May, in Hanoi, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) and Vietnamese Heart Fund - Vietnam Television jointly organized a Ceremony to announce the charity eye surgery program named “Vietnamese beliefs”. This is a social security program, bearing a great meaningfulness, contributing to completing the targets in the National Strategy for Prevention of Blindness until 2020, with a Vision to 2030.

Speaking at the Ceremony, EVN’s Deputy General Director Vo Quang Lam said: With the spirit of sharing and showing responsibility to the community, in recent years, EVN has well implemented social security. In the 2013-2018 period only, EVN invested more than VND 6,100 billion to supply power from the national grid to 11/12 island districts across the country, serving socio-economic development, contributing to protecting the sea and islands sovereignty of the country.

For the charity eye surgery program named “Vietnamese beliefs”, EVN will contribute to curing the blindness and recovering the light for disadvantaged patients suffering from eye diseases across the country. “Curing and bringing the light for patients are also associated with EVN’s image and message “Light up the Beliefs”.

EVN granting donation to Vietnamese Heart Fund - Vietnam Television to implement the charity eye surgery program

Ms. Vu Thanh Thuy - Director of Vietnamese Heart Fund said that EVN and Vietnamese Heart Fund will cooperate with the provincial general hospitals to implement the program in an effective manner.
