Promoting application of information technology in Vietnam Electricity

On 16 August 2018, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) organized the Workshop on Information technology development trend, which attracted the participation of many large domestic and international technology firms.

Participants at the Workshop were Mr. Dang Huy Cuong - Member of EVN’s Member Council (MC), Mr. Vo Quang Lam - Deputy General Director of EVN.

The experiences in deploying application of technology presented by the domestic and international experts as well as partners at the workshop would be screened, learned by EVN and its member units to apply them into the process of management, operation, investment in power grid construction - said Mr. Vo Quang Lam, Deputy General Director of EVN.

There were a number of noteworthy topics discussed at the Workshop: Integrated solutions in the digital age based on the ESB and API Connect (IBM Group Vietnam); How the 4^th Industrial Revolution has impacted in and changed the Power sector (Oracle Company); Developing SOC - challenges and solutions (RSA Company); etc.

The Group’s leaders also highlighted that the application of information technology, science and technology was essential for EVN to gradually improve its quality of power, customer services and productivity with the target to become one of four leading power units in Southeast Asia by 2020.
