Putting 220kV Phan Thiet – Phu My 2 transmission line into operation

The Central Power Management Board (CPMB) coordinating with the Power Engineering Consultant Companies (PECC) and the contractors, operation management unit organized to put the 220kV Phan Thiet - Phu My 2 power transmission line into operation.

The Project’s scope consists of construction of a 220kV transmission line with 2 circuits and a total length of 140.14 km, from 220 kV Phan Thiet power substation (Binh Thuan Province) to 220kV Phu My 2 Industrial zone substation (Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province).

The transmission line crosses the following provinces: North Ham Thuan, South Ham Thuan, Ham Tan and La Gi township of Binh Thuan province and the following districts: Xuyen Moc, Chau Duc, Tan Thanh, Long Dat and Ba Ria county town of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province.

The total investment of the project is 1,195.19 billion VND, which is arranged from the loan arranged by Joint Stock commercial bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam, Da Nang branch and EVNNPT’s self-funded financing.

The project was started from 29th  December, 2013. The National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) was the project owner. CPMB on behalf of EVNNPT managed and implemented the project; PECC4 was the engineering consulting unit; Vietnam Power Construction Corporation, One-member Power Construction Limited Company No. 4 and Song Da 11 joint - stock company were the civil work contractors; Power Transmission Companies No.3, No.4 have received and operated the transmission line.

The 220kV Phan Thiet – Phu My 2 power transmission line once put into operation shall transmit power from Vinh Tan 2 and Son My power plants to the national power network, simultaneously create the connection of 220kV power grid in the South Central coastal region and the Southern region.
