EVN President and CEO Tran Dinh Nhan said: In the past 4 years, Vietnam has had a rapid development in renewable energy, with about 20,000MW of this power source have been put into operation, increasing the total capacity of Vietnam's current power system is about 80,000MW - leading in Southeast Asia. However, this also leads to some challenges in power system operation when renewable energy sources increase. Along with that, the political situation in the world has been unstable, causing an increase in coal prices for power production, affecting the financial balance of EVN.

Also according to EVN President and CEO Tran Dinh Nhan, energy transition in the power sector is not an easy problem in the situation of the fast growth rate of Vietnam's power system, averaging about 9% per year, requiring high demand for investment construction of power source projects. Therefore, EVN wishes to cooperate with Czech Republic enterprises to solve the above challenges step by step.

Delegation of Czech MoIT visiting and working at EVN

Czech MoIT Minister Jozef Síleka affirmed that the Czech Republic considers Vietnam to be one of the most important markets outside of Europe. Currently, the Czech Republic has many reputable enterprises providing equipment to improve the efficiency of coal-fired power plants, specially equipped with coal quality management software to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Besides, many Czech enterprises also have a lot of experience that can help Vietnam achieve its goals in the energy transition.

Also on this occasion, the Czech MoIT Minister proposed to establish a working group between the Vietnam MoIT, the Czech Republic MoIT, and EVN to timely exchange and support for feasible projects in the next time.
