Strengthening release of renewable energy sources in Ninh Thuan province

At 6:14 am on December 30, 2022, the Central Power Projects Management Board (CPMB) in coordination with relevant units organized the acceptance and energization of Ninh Phuoc - Thuan Nam 220kV double-circuit transmission line project. One of the main goals of the project’s construction investment is to meet the capacity release demand of solar and wind power plants that will be connected to the power grid of Ninh Thuan province in the coming period.

The project was completed earlier than required by Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee (before December 31, 2022).

Ninh Phuoc – Thuan Nam 220kV transmission line has just been successfully energized

Ninh Phuoc - Thuan Nam 220kV double-circuit transmission line was built in Ninh Phuoc and Thuan Nam districts, Ninh Thuan province. The project is invested by National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) with a total value of VND 198.15 billion, managed and operated by CPMB, engineered and consulted by Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 4, and received operation by Power Transmission Company 3.

The main scale of the project includes the construction of a 220kV double-circuit transmission line from Ninh Phuoc 220kV substation to Thuan Nam 500kV substation with a length of about 12.9km and 34 pole positions; Construction and installation of equipment for two 220kV feeder bays at Ninh Phuoc 220kV substation and two feeder bays at Thuan Nam 500kV substation.

Besides the goal of meeting the capacity release demand from solar and wind power plants, the project helps prevent overloading of the existing Ninh Phuoc 220kV -  Thuan Nam 500kV substation transmission line, ensure safe operation, improve the reliability of the national power grid system and the power grid in Ninh Thuan province.
