Swedish business delegation  meeting with EVN

On February 23, 2017 President and CEO of Vietnam Electricity Mr. Dang Hoang An welcomed and had a meeting with the Swedish business delegation led by Ms. Elisabeth Nilsson – County Governor of Ostergotland at EVN’s headquarters.

At the meeting, Mr. President and CEO shared some information of Vietnam energy market. Accordingly, in order to meet the increasing power demand of the country, EVN has made big investments in power generation and network system. The current power system scale of Vietnam is standing second in the South East Asia region and 30th in the world. Power supply quality is bettering, meanwhile power loss rates are steadily decreasing over the years.

EVN’s President and CEO informed that EVN kept developing clean energy resources such as solar energy, wind power, biomass, etc. to satisfy the current power consumption demand of the country and to ensure sustainable growth.

In discussions with EVN’s President and CEO, Ms. Elisabeth Nilsson highly appreciated the achievements that EVN had gained over the past time; at the same time, she expected that EVN and Swedish energy companies would strengthen bilateral cooperation relations in the areas of mutual interests.

At the meeting, representatives of Swedish companies shared and exchanged a lot of information on Swedish energy technologies such as:  photovoltaic battery technology, waste-to-electricity by waste incineration, biomass boiler system, etc. as well as cooperation and investment opportunities in energy field in Vietnam.

The President and CEO affirmed that EVN is willing to cooperate with Swedish partners in jointly developing the energy sector in Vietnam towards sustainability and environmental protection.
