Tan Cang 220kV substation affixed name board of emulation work of Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor

On the afternoon of 30 December 2022, Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) held a ceremony to affix name board of the 220kV Tan Cang Substation project as an emulation work at the Ho Chi Minh City's Federation of Labor, on the occasion of the 68th anniversary of the Vietnam Electricity Industry Tradition Day (December 21, 1954 - December 21, 2022) and Trade Union Congresses at all levels for the term 2023-2028.

Tan Cang 220/110kV substation started construction in March 2021, with modern technology, using 110kV and 220kV GIS equipment (Gas Insulation Switchgear). The scale of the substation includes 2 220/110kV transformers with a capacity of 2x 250MVA, and 2 110/24kV transformers with a capacity of 2 x 63MVA together with an automatic protection control system, security surveillance camera, and modern fire protection system.

When put into operation, Tan Cang 220/110kV substation will make an important contribution to supplying electricity to fast-growing areas such as Thu Duc city, Thu Thiem new urban area; increase capacity, prevent overload for central districts; improve the reliability of power supply and flexibly operate 110kV and 22kV power grids in neighboring areas, contributing to ensuring adequate and stable electricity supply for the socio-economic development of the Ho Chi Minh City. In particular, this substation will provide electricity for large loads, with high requirements on stability and power quality such as Metro line No. 1 Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien.

EVNHCMC's inauguration and put into operation the project of 220/110kV Tan Cang Substation at this time is very meaningful to the goal of ensuring a stable and safe power source, contributing to the economic recovery and development of Ho Chi Minh City after the pandemic.
