Speaking at the Inauguration Ceremony of Hai Phuc Kindergarten, EVN’s Chairman Duong Quang Thanh stated: In the past years, in addition to production - business and construction – investment activities, EVN has paid much attention to social security works, especially under the form of supports extended to education, health and disaster prevention. EVN has implemented a lot of social security and charity humanitarian programs nationwide, particularly in places where natural calamities and floods frequently occur.
Hai Phuc commune has quite extreme weather conditions, recurrently being influenced by dry southwest wind in the summer and flush floods in the rainy season. After considering actual conditions of the commune, EVN has collaborated with the Central Viet Nam Disaster Prevention Support Fund to financially support the construction of a kindergarten which will serve as a disaster prevention and response structure in Hai Phuc commune in order to meet essential needs for education and physical activities of children, and at the same time to act as a shelter for local people to escape floods in the occurrence of natural disasters.
Up to now, the project has been completed and put into service timely to serve local people in the rainy season. This project demonstrates the thankfulness of EVN towards supports of the people of Hai Phuc commune extended for power projects in the province, as well as the gratitude towards a land of revolutionary tradition where a lot of sacrifices were made for the sake of the independence and freedom of the motherland.
Hai Phuc Kindergarten is a two story building with 6 classrooms. The building is a school for children under normal conditions, however when typhoons or floods occur, this is a safe shelter for local people.

Some information about the Natural Disaster Prevention Community project - Hai Phuc Kindergarten
- Investor: People's Committee of Dakrong district (Quang Tri province)
- Fund raiser: Central Viet Nam Disaster Prevention Support Fund
- Sponsor: Viet Nam Electricity
- Project scale: two story building, 6 classrooms with a total area of 740.7m2
- Investment cost: Approximately VND 5 billion, of which VND 3 billion is financed by EVN and VND 2 billion counterpart fund is covered by Dak Rong district.
