The 110 kV Tien Trung power substation was constructed and operated from January 2012 with one 40 MVA transformer (T1) to supply power for loads in Nam Sach district and Tien Trung industrial zone – Nam Sach district and some neighboring areas, etc. Up to now, since the residential and industrial power demand is growing, the transformer T1 always operates in full load condition, and frequently needs supporting sources from the 110kV substations of Dong Nien, Lai Khe when it is overloaded.
The total investment cost of the installation project of 63 MVA-110/35/22 kV transformer T2 at 110 kV Tien Trung power substation is over 40 billion VND, which was arranged from the depreciation source and commercial loans of the company. The Project’s scope is installation of one 63 MVA 110/35/22kV transformer, construction and installation of other new and supplementary equipment to ensure transformer T2’s safe and effective operation. The automatic misting fire protection system for transformers is first time installed for 110 kV substations of Hai Duong Power Company.
The project when put into operation upgraded capacity of the 110kV Tien Trung power substation from 40 MVA to 103 MVA and solved overload situations for transformer T1 of the substation, met the requirement on load development in the region, especially the industrial load, completed the ring diagram to supply power for 110kV substations of Tien Trung and Lai Khe, ensured back-up capacity for the 110 kV substations of Dong Nien, Chi Linh and Lai Khe, and improved power quality and reliability for power supply in the region as well.
