After the visit, Ms. Tran Thi Minh Ha, a resident of Vinh Tien village, Vinh Tan commune said: "Now I have seen the proper implementation of environmental management, in conformity with information that local government and the power plant’s leaders committed to the people in our village. I believe that Vinh Tan thermal power plant cause no harm to the environment".
Vinh Tan Thermal Power Plant company has currently planned to organize monthly tours for local people to visit and monitor the power plant. In addition, the plant always welcome people and all levels of local authority in Binh Thuan province to visit and supervise as requested.
Officers and residents of Vinh Tan commune to visit and learn about the operation of Vinh Tan 2 thermal power plant in the morning of November 10.
In fact, Vinh Tan 2 thermal power plant in Binh Thuan Province and Duyen Hai 1 thermal power plant in Tra Vinh province were invested by the Vietnam Electricity with the advanced technology equal to thermal power plants in the world. These power plants were equipped with electrostatic precipitator systems, de-Nox system and flue gas desulfurization (FGD) to remove sulfur dioxide SO2 by sea water.
At the moment, the company is still upgrading electrostatic precipitator system of Vinh Tan 2 thermal power plant in order to operate it from the start-up of the boiler, avoid emitting black smoke into the environment. It is expected that the upgrading will be completed in December, 2016.
Vinh Tan Thermal Power Plant Company is actively planting more trees around the plant and in the slag area to minimize dust dispersal into the environment, and create a clean and green scenery.
To reuse ash and slag, at present, Vinh Tan 2 Thermal Power Plant Company has signed a contract with Ever Green Investment Joint Stock Company to sell the entire amount of the ash and slag for the production of construction materials and unburnt clay brick.
