Thac Mo Hydropower extension project was started on July 1, 2014 and was built on Bu Gia Map district and Phuoc Long district, Binh Phuoc province. Thac Mo Hydropower extension project with the capacity of 75MW (1 unit), was invested by Vietnam Electricity (EVN). With the project, the capacity of Thac Mo would raise to 225 MW.
3 years after the commencement of the works, with the thorough management of the owner and the process of working hard, the responsibility of the consulting units and contractors, the project was successfully completed. Timely synchronization of the Thac Mo extension project contributed to the National grid with an output of about 52 million kWh per year. The total investment is 1,558.924 billion VND, of which 85% of ODA loans funded by the Japanese government, 15% of the counterpart fund of the country.
Truong Son Construction Corporation and Vinavico Construction Joint Stock Company (Vinavico) are a consortium of construction contractors. Supervision consultant is consortium of contractors J-Power and Nippon Koei Japan, sub-consultant is PEC 2.
Electromechanical equipment of the project was provided by the contractor Alstom INDIA (now GE contractor) and the subcontractor is Lilama 10.
Some achievement milestones of the project in accordance with the contract:
• Ground Breaking Ceremony: July 5, 2014
• Completion of C10 milestone - completion of energy route for energy water refilling: May 15, 1977 - meeting the schedule.
• Synchronized to the grid on 11/7/2017.
• Started the Trial Run (scheduled) from 15/7/2017 and completed it on 14/8/2017.
