On the morning of July 2, at Tri An Commune, Dong Nai City, EVN Vice President Pham Hong Phuong, together with a working delegation, inspected the construction progress for the second quarter at the Tri An Hydropower Plant Expansion Project site.

The delegation also included Mr. Tran Phu Cuong, EVN Controller, representatives from EVN's specialized departments, Power Project Management Board No. 3 (EVNPMB3), Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 2 (PECC2), Tri An Hydropower Company, Yaly Hydropower Company, and the project's contractors.

EVN delegation inspects construction progress of Hieu Liem Bridge. This component failed to meet target of opening bridge to traffic in June 2026 due to several objective factors, including delays in site handover by local authorities, one household near access road to Abutment B has yet to be relocated; and prolonged rainfall, which has significantly hindered earthfilling works.

Delegation visits powerhouse construction area to review ongoing works.

Tri An Hydropower Plant Expansion Project encountered difficulties in sourcing suitable soil and rock materials for construction. Major reason is site's unfavorable geological conditions: local soil and rock are highly water-saturated and do not meet required engineering standards for construction, making excavated material unsuitable for reuse.

Delegation also inspects water intake construction area. At locations vulnerable to erosion, contractor installed protective tarpaulin sheets (geotextile fabric) to prevent water infiltration. EVN Vice President Pham Hong Phuong instructs contractor to implement additional reinforcement measures to improve slope stability and better mitigate risk of landslides during storms and heavy rainfall.

According to EVNPMB3, contractors have generally complied with occupational safety regulations by conducting regular inspections, training sessions, and periodic reporting on safety, health, environmental, and hygiene management.

Following the site inspection, the EVN delegation held a working meeting with EVNPMB3, PECC2, Tri An Hydropower Company, Yaly Hydropower Company, and the project's contractors at the project management office.

Further updates on the working program will be published on the EVN website.
