Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc give the order to start construction of Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant Expansion Project

On 10 January, in Hoa Binh, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended the Groundbreaking Ceremony and gave the order to start construction of Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant Expansion Project. The ceremony was organized by Vietnam Electricity (EVN). The groundbreaking of this project is targeted by EVN to celebrate the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Speaking at the Groundbreaking Ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc highly appreciated and praised EVN's serious and timely working spirit to start the project.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc listened to a presentation on the scope of Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant Expansion Project.

Also on this occasion, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and the delegation paid a visit to send regards to and inspire employees of Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant (under Vietnam Electricity).

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc gave gifts to operating engineers and workers in Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVN Duong Quang Thanh (right) and the leader of Vietcombank handed over the Credit Contract. To invest in the project, EVN borrows domestic commercial loans of VND4,000 billion and a non-sovereign foreign loan of about EUR70 million.

The investment policy of Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant Expansion Project has been approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 389/TTg-CN dated 11 April 2018. This is a construction project of special grade, including two power units with a total installed capacity of 480 MW, located on the main stream of Da River in Hoa Binh city (Hoa Binh province).
