In Vinh Tan Power Center, there are 3 coal fired thermal power plants in operation. In which, 2 power plants are owned by EVN, namely Vinh Tan 2 Thermal Power Plant (under Vinh Tan Thermal Power Company / Power Generation Corporation No.3) and Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant (under EVN). The remaining Vinh Tan 1 Thermal Power Plant is BOT. The green, clean and beautiful landscape of the center is the first positive evaluation point of the mission.

The mission visited the coal warehouse of Vinh Tan 2 Thermal Power Plant and Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant. Mr. Phan Xuan Dung - Chairman of the Science, Technology and Environment Committee of the National Assembly (4th from right) and the inspection mission noted that there were no scattered dust around the coal warehouse area.

The mission inspected the water environment at the coal port area of Vinh Tan 2 Thermal Power Plant.

The corals there have naturally grown right on the coal port embankment. The mission stated that this was a positive result thanks to the efforts and environmental protection solutions of EVN and its power plants.

The clear blue water in the port, no dust at the coal dumping site of Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant, was also highly appreciated by the mission for environmental protection.

At the slag yard of Vinh Tan Power Center, all ash and slag are compacted and covered with nets. The humidifying system works continuously, making sure not to spread dust around.

At the central control office of Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant, the mission observed environmental monitoring parameters. At the time of inspection, the mission noted that the dust concentration emission indicator is much lower than the Vietnamese standard, even 5 times lower than the international standard. The environmental monitoring indicators are also displayed publicly on the electronic board in front of the plant gate for the people’s co-monitoring.

On the afternoon of March 16, the mission listened to EVN's brief report on environmental protection. Mr. Phan Xuan Dung noted that most of the conclusions and requirements of the previous mission had been seriously implemented by EVN. The environmental protection at Vinh Tan Power Center has gained significant improvements. In the coming time, EVN needs to continue promoting the consumption of ash and slag at Vinh Tan Power Center.
