At the ceremony, Mr. Vo Quang Lam - Vice president of EVN shared, with the orientation of deep international integration and creation of highly qualified human resources, getting ready to work in the international environment, the ASEAN Engineers Register is the right policy, contributing to promoting the international integration process, turning Vietnam Electricity into a leading energy group in the region. EVN is committed to continuing to focus on fostering high-quality human resources, especially qualified, capable and ethical engineers to continue developing into ASEAN engineers who meet regional and international standards, getting ready to participate in the labor market in ASEAN.
Talking about the importance of registering ASEAN professional engineers, Mr. Mai Quoc Hoi - Vice President cum General Secretary of Vietnam Electricity Association emphasized that registering ASEAN professional engineers will contribute to protecting and promoting benefits of engineers; promote professional formation and practice to higher standards; enhance relationships, exchange expertise and cultural exchanges among engineering members in ASEAN; provide sufficient data related to the development of engineer's career for the benefit of potential employers; while encouraging continuous updating of the quality of engineers by establishing, monitoring and reviewing professional standards.
Out of a total of 109 engineers recognized on this occasion, 105 engineers come from Vietnam Electricity. Thus, the total number of Electrical engineers receiving certificates has reached 442 people, accounting for 80% of the total 552 ASEAN engineers in the country.
Also at the ceremony, the ASEAN Federation of Engineers honored and awarded the title of Honorary Member to Mr. Nguyen Binh Niem and Mr. Le Thai Anh - members of the Vietnam ASEAN Engineer Registration Council, the Vietnam Electricity Association for making many contributions to building and developing the ASEAN engineering force of Vietnam.
To obtain the certificate of “ASEAN Professional Engineer”, engineers must have a nationally recognized university degree in science/technology; must have at least 7 years of experience working in a technical environment, including at least 2 years of being in charge of important electrical engineering projects and works; fluently use at least one foreign language (preferably English); meet ethical requirements and professional development, and so on.
