The 110 kV Doan Hung substation and line project is expected to be energized by May 2016. The project is owned and invested by the Northern Power Corporation with a total investment of VND 65.5 billion. The project consists of construction of 110 kV substation, installation of two 110/35/22 kV transformers of 40 MVA each and 0.18 km of double circuit line. In phase 1 of the project, a 40 MVA transformer shall be installed. The second transformer will be installed subject to the load demand of the area.
Presently, PhuTho Province is supplied from 13 110 kV substations with a total capacity of 558 MVA, of which 2 transformers are used to feed the Super Phosphate company and Bai Bang Paper Mill. The remaining substations are operated at full load and sometimes overloaded. The 110 kV Dong Xuan and Ninh Dan substations are supplying power for Thanh Ba, Ha Hoa and Doan Hung districts where the load growth rate is over 10% per year. Especially, Doan Hung district has a very high load growth rate of 19.63% and currently has a power demand of 28MW.
Chairman of EVN Board of Members Duong Quang Thanh noted, upon completion, this project would ensure a safe, stable and reliable power supply for Doan Hung district in conformity with the Provincial Power Development Plan for 2011-2015 with vision to 2020. It helps to reduce power supply radius for the 35/22 kV network, create a ring circuit to support the power supply among Doan Hung district, Thanh Ba district and Viet Tri city.
EVN Chairman requested the Northern Power Corporation to supervise and direct the contractors to mobilizing all resources to ensure the project completion as scheduled, meeting technical requirements. At the same time, the Chairman expected that, during construction, the relevant units would receive support from local people and authorities.
