Thai Binh 1 Thermal Power Plant Project is owned and invested by Vietnam Electricity (EVN), implemented and managed by the Power Generation Corporation No.3. It is stated that the boiler steam drum of unit 1 weighs 236 tons, 26.29 m long, with inner diameter of 1.676 m, steam drum center installation height of more than 52 m.

Mr. Le Van Danh, Deputy General Director of Power Generation Corporation No. 3 (EVNGENCO3) said that: “This successful erection of the boiler steam drum is one of the important milestones, the decisive factor in the installation schedule of unit 1 in particular and the whole project in general, marking a meaningful progress in the plant construction process”.
Thai Binh 1 Thermal Power Project was commenced in February 2015 with the total investment of more than VND 26.5 trillion. The plant is composed of two units with the total installed capacity of 600 MW (2x300 MW).
Thai Binh 1 Thermal Power Plant, when being put into commercial operation, will supply a power output of 3.2 billion kWh/year. This output is of significant meaning in securing electricity supply to the socio-economic development and industrialization process of Thai Binh province and adjacent provinces in the Northern delta region and to the national power system.
