The Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant Project
The Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant project is owned and invested by the Vietnam Electricity/ Power Generation Corporation No. 1, which is one of the four power plants of Duyen Hai Power Center.
The plant consists of two units with total capacity of 2 x 622.5 MW. In which, the imported coal and modern combustion technology are applied to ensure high standards of availability, performance, stability, safety and environmental protection requirements by applying the methods of dust filtering, de-NOx and de-SOx in the modern and advanced equipment.
The successful synchronization of Unit No. 1 of the Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant serves as an important milestone to main scheduled progress of the project.
Currently, the contractors have continued to perform the tests as specified in the contract to run the unit reliably in July 2016 and officially take Unit No. 1 into operation in December 2016.
During the commissioning of the unit, the project owner and supervision consultants have requested the contractor to run the electrostatic precipitator system (ESP), flue-gas desulfurization (FGD) and selective analytic reduction (SCR) to ensure the environmental emission complying with the approved parameters in the EIA.T
After completion, each year, the power plant can produce approximately 7.8 billion kWh, equivalent to about 9% of the production of the entire southern region in 2016. The power plant shall play an important role in supplying power for the socio-economic development in the Mekong Delta, reducing the power to be transmitted from North to South and power loss, and improving safety, stability and economical operation of the power system.
