At the event, Deputy General Director Luan Quoc Hung stated that since 2010, alongside the timely directives of the Party and Government, numerous action programs, projects, and plans have been implemented, focusing on accelerating the application of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation to achieve four key objectives: improving power supply reliability, reducing energy losses, increasing labor productivity, and enhancing customer service quality.
The development of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation has driven EVNHCMC to transform into an advanced business model aligned with international standards. This transformation encompasses five key areas: Operational engineering; Customer service and business operations; Power grid investment and development; Telecommunications and information technology infrastructure; and Internal management.
During the 2010-2025 period, EVNHCMC has achieved significant milestones. Specifically, in the field of technical management and operation, the average outage duration per customer (SAIDI) was reduced from 3,964 minutes to 25.5 minutes. The average outage frequency per customer (SAIFI) decreased from 28.85 times to 0.28 times. The power loss rate was reduced from 5.82% to 2.98%. 100% of technical management processes were digitized. Labor productivity was improved, with a reduction of 400 employees after completing the transformation to fully unmanned 110kV substations.
The quality of business operations and customer service has improved significantly. Notable achievements include Ranked 27th out of 190 countries worldwide in the electricity access index; 100% of electricity services are provided online at Level 4; Elimination of manual meter reading and bill collection staff.
Additionally, the power grid has been reinforced with sufficient redundancy, using advanced, modern, and high-reliability equipment. The underground power grid technology has been effectively applied, ensuring the safety of the system and enhancing the city's urban aesthetics.
Some of EVNHCMC's most outstanding and groundbreaking scientific research projects include Live-line maintenance training, Outage Management System (OMS), Power grid automation, etc. Many pioneering, innovative, and practical initiatives have been developed, such as Outage management, Automated safety monitoring via livestream, Mobile power supply solutions, etc. In 2024, EVNHCMC's Smart Grid Index ranked 41st out of 92 globally.
