Da Mi Floating Solar Power Plant successfully connected to grid

On 13 May 2019, Da Mi Floating Solar Power Plant was successfully connected to the power grid by Da Nhim - Ham Thuan - Da Mi Hydropower Joint Stock Company (DHD) and related units.

Solar panels installed on Da Mi hydroelectric reservoir

In phase 1, the plant operates with a capacity of 20.5MWp.

Floating Solar Power Plant Project on Da Mi Reservoir is invested nearly VND 1,500 billion by DHD with a total design capacity of 47.5MWp, power output of about 70 million kWh/year.

The project was installed with 143,940 solar panels on an area of 50ha of the reservoir, situated in La Ngau commune (Tanh Linh district) and Da Mi and La Da communes (Ham Thuan Bac district) of Binh Thuan province.

Unlike rooftop or ground (mounted) solar power projects, the project on the reservoir is often more efficient because the difference between solar radiation and water surface is great difference between solar radiation and water surface.

The project was successfully connected to the grid 48 days ahead of the schedule (expected date: June 30, 2019), promptly adding clean energy sources for Binh Thuan province in particular and Southern provinces in general.

DHD under the Power Generation Corporation 1 (Vietnam Electricity) currently manages and operates 4 hydropower plants of Da Nhim, Ham Thuan, Da Mi, Song Pha with a total capacity of 642.5MW, an average output over 2.5 billion kWh/year. This company has a lot of experience in management, operation, repair, investment in construction of power source projects.
