Energizing Tao Dan - Tan Cang 220kV underground cable line

On 27 December 2023, the Southern Power Project Management Board (under the National Power Transmission Corporation) in coordination with relevant units energized the Tao Dan - Tan Cang 220kV Underground Cable project, thereby helping to strengthen ensuring electricity for Ho Chi Minh City.

This is a level I, group B energy project invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT).

220kV cable system constructed simultaneously with Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe canal

The project is a scale of building a new double-circuit Tao Dan - Tan Cang 220kV underground cable line with a total length of about 6.5km. The project has a starting point at the existing Tao Dan 220kV substation (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) and an ending point at the newly built Tan Cang 220kV substation (Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City). The project newly installs two 220kV line bays with GIS equipment at the backup location of Tao Dan 220kV GIS room. The project supplements and completes the protection control system for these two bays.

In addition, the project also implemented a civil project, a pedestrian bridge across the Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe canal, about 100m long, at a cost of more than VND 10 billion, helping people travel conveniently and creating more scenery.
