This time, Dong Nai Hydropower Company released 80,000 fingerlings, including grass carp, common carp, silver carp, and climbing perch, into the two reservoirs under its management. These species are of high economic value and well-suited to the local environment.
Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyễn Quang Đàm, Deputy Director of the company, stated: “Along with our core tasks of regulating downstream water flow and generating electricity to fulfill assigned duties, environmental protection and social welfare have always been priorities of Power Generation Corporation 1 (EVNGENCO1) and Dong Nai Hydropower Company. The annual release of fingerlings not only helps replenish valuable fishery resources but also contributes to improving living conditions and creating sustainable livelihoods for local communities.”
This annual activity carries significant political, social, and humanitarian meaning, aiming to restore and regenerate fishery resources that have been declining due to overexploitation. It also contributes to water purification, environmental protection, and the maintenance of ecological balance. At the same time, the release of fish provides a source of clean, safe, and nutritious food, thereby enhancing livelihoods for local residents.
