Vietnam Electricity and Vietnam Rubber Group sign cooperation agreement

On February 24, in Hanoi, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG) signed a cooperation agreement to support each other in performing well the functions and tasks of each side in investment and development in the electricity sector.

EVN’s representatives attending at the signing ceremony included Chairman of Board of Directors Dang Hoang An, President and CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan, Vice President Ngo Son Hai, and Vice President Pham Hong Phuong. VRG's representatives included Chairman of the Board of Directors Tran Cong Kha and General Director Le Thanh Hung.

EVN and VRG leaders exchanging signed cooperation agreement

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chairman Dang Hoang An hoped that in the coming time, the cooperative relationship between the two sides will become increasingly deeper, concretized through many specific and effective programs. EVN leaders also expressed strong support for the renewable energy development orientation of Vietnam Rubber Group.

On the side of Vietnam Rubber Group, Chairman of the Board of Directors Tran Cong Kha said that over the past years, EVN has accompanied the development of the rubber, providing electricity services to VRG and its member units. In the overall results that Vietnam Rubber  Group has achieved in recent years, there is the responsible companionship, support, and contribution of EVN.

Mr. Tran Cong Kha affirmed that with the signed cooperation agreement, the two sides will be strategic and trustworthy partners; promoting strengths and improving efficiency in the fields of operation, in accordance with each side's strategy. Some cooperation contents between the two Groups include: the two sides agree to support and create favourable conditions in compensation and site clearance to carry out investment in the construction of power lines and transformer stations according to the planning on rubber land. Compensation and site clearance at the locations of transformer stations, foundations of transmission and distribution lines are implemented in accordance with the provisions of law.

EVN and VRG also agreed to support and facilitate the implementation of reports to competent authorities for consideration of supplementing and updating the National Power Development Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 for renewable energy projects being researched and developed on rubber land, potential pumped-storage hydropower projects; research cooperation plans to develop new power source projects, and so on.
