EVN and EDF exchange experiences on smart power grids and information technology applications

On 29 February 2024, in Hanoi, EVN Vice President Vo Quang Lam chaired the meeting and worked with the delegation of Électricité de France (EDF) to exchange and share experiences on smart power grid operation management and information technology applications.

The meeting was organized in offline and online formats for units throughout EVN and units and experts of EDF.

Directly attending the EVN bridge was Mr. Lionel Besombes - Regional Director of Asia-Pacific, EDF.

On EVN's side, there was also EVN’s Board of Director Member Dinh The Phuc; together with representatives of EVN professional departments.

Welcoming the delegation, EVN Vice President Vo Quang Lam respectfully thanked the meaningful and effective cooperation of EDF with EVN in recent times. On this occasion, EVN wishes to share and exchange many valuable experiences and lessons of EDF in developing smart power grids and applying information technology.

At the meeting, EVN leaders also generalized general information about the smart grid development process of EVN and its member units. Currently, EVN is performing relatively well in terms of the electricity supply reliability index. In particular, among EVN's member units, Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) is in the Top 50 smart grid rankings in the world. 

Mr. Lionel Besombes - EDF Asia-Pacific Regional Director said that EDF has a lot of experience developing smart power grids, and responding to cyber security threats and hopes to share EDF's lessons for EVN. The exchange and sharing of experiences between EDF and EVN will be a useful opportunity for the parties to perfect, develop, and solve the challenges they are facing. This is also an important activity that contributes to promoting an increasingly strong cooperative relationship between the two corporations.

On this occasion, experts from the EDF presented in-depth the main contents related to smart grids and information technology applications such as experience in developing and operating power grids; information security policy; data analysis; risk management in information security; Practical lessons on information security at EDF, etc.
